About

For those who do not already know me, I’m a part-time stay at home wife.  Our only son is off at college but comes home on weekends.  When I’m not home, I’m traveling around the country teaching quilting, my other passion.  I have two books published by AQS.  The first is Nine Patch Extravaganza.  The second is Weekend Quilts, which will be out in February, 2010.  Both books can be purchased here.

Cooking is not only a hobby but a MUST DO at our house.  We live in a small town and except for our infrequent trips to a city, our meals consist of every day, easy to find ingredients.  We love good food and I love trying new recipes.  Too often I forget to take pictures of the ingredients sitting out on the counter, of each step along the way so on this blog, you’ll find photos of whatever I remember to photograph . . no promises about the pictures.  I will promise yummy, husband and family pleasing recipes!

Most recipes are type food you can feed your family as an every day type meal (nothing fancy around here) using ingredients that are fairly common.  Every now and then I may throw something in that’s a bit weird but mustly, it’s everyday ingredients.

I love cooking extra, freezing meals and having days when I can pull something out of the freezer for a yummy meal.

In addition to day to day cooking, I grind my wheat to make flour for fresh whole wheat bread; I do lots of canning and storing food in quantity.

I hope you enjoy the recipes I’ve shared here.
